Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Deleted posts are accessible via the edit URLs, if you know the ID

is available under

I spotted this with a post of mine that had been downvoted enough to earn 'peer pressure' on deletion; the original post is gone from my activity, but still accessible via edit... no idea if it works for other users posts.

To clarify, 'other users' means across ids! – Phil Lello May 4 '11 at 5:04
Doesn't work for me. Must just be your own. – NickC May 4 '11 at 5:05
this is status-bydesign imho – YOU May 4 '11 at 5:06

Not a bug. Users asked to be able to delete their posts, edit them while deleted, and then undelete them.

I was able to edit his deleted post even though I'm not able to see it elsewhere. Is that intentional? – Tim Stone May 4 '11 at 5:20
@Tim, simply because you have edit privilege, imho. – YOU May 4 '11 at 5:31
@YOU even as a low rep user I can see the post this way in the edit window. Note I can't actually edit it just give edit suggestions. – Wes May 4 '11 at 7:27
@Wes, you still can suggest edits to deleted posts. – YOU May 4 '11 at 7:28
