Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Just wondering.

Recently I started seeing fun JS errors in IE8.

Syntax error
Line: 216139361
Symbol: 20
Code: 0

Or:

Syntax error
Line: 216010057
Symbol: 20
Code: 0

They happen when a promotion for an area51 project appears to the right.

Doesn't hurt, doesn't seem to break anything. Just curious.

There's a certain Irony in the fact that it is "Bibilical Hermeneutics" which is breaking stackexchange, the site designed to generate answers to (the great?) questions – Brook May 27 '11 at 16:14

@brook Biblical Hermeneutics and all other area51 projects :) – GSerg May 27 '11 at 16:16

Yep, that's a bug in Adzerk (the ad management software). We'll pass that on. – balpha May 27 '11 at 16:19

@balpha Does it indeed has 216 million lines of JS code? – GSerg May 27 '11 at 16:21

@GSerg: Not quite :) IE gets very creative when making up line numbers for dynamically inserted JavaScript; I've seen that before. – balpha May 27 '11 at 16:24

hmm, might also be ours... we're looking at it, either way – balpha May 27 '11 at 16:27
