As per Joel's comment to this question

Is anyone other than me interested in having a non-technical track for spouses and/or family? That is, you want to make a mini vacation out of this conference and need something for the spouse/family to do during the day when you're at the conference.

If so, what sorts of things would be good? I'm thinking:

  1. Local history tour
  2. Shopping
  3. Area theme park
  4. Kid's stuff

Saw the title and immediately thought, "abused spouses support group". A history tour would be... better... –  Shogging through the snow Jul 7 '11 at 21:24

@Shog9 I read stackoverflow widows. –  Marcelo Jul 7 '11 at 21:35

Theme parks are a bit thin on the ground in Sydney. The Dev Days venue in Sydney is the middle of the 2000 Olympics precinct, but I wouldn't call it a theme park. –  pavium Jul 8 '11 at 2:15
