What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 122 Stack Exchange communities.

When you edit an answer with a spoiler.

For example here: http://meta.stackoverflow.com/posts/71396/edit

The links in the preview area (for the spoiler) are shown.

Why is this?

I believe this should be fixed.

This is tested to be the case in at least:

  • IE 8
  • Firefox 6
  • Chrome 12

Now that I see the CSS, this should be a minor fix:

.spoiler a {
   color: #EEE;
   border-color: #EEE;
.wmd-preview a {
   color: black;
   border-bottom: 1px black dotted;

The .wmd-preview a is overriding the .spoiler a settings.

I think that's a non-issue. The live markdown interpreter is a little fussier than that handled by the server. I say let it lie. –  jcolebrand Jul 12 '11 at 21:13
@jcolebrand -- it might be as you say a "non-issue" but a bug is a bug, and this is a bug outright –  amanaP lanaC A nalP A naM A Jul 12 '11 at 21:16
alternate solution would be blockquote.spoiler a –  jcolebrand Jul 12 '11 at 21:28
Yeah, this is probably a bug. Yeah, this should probably be fixed. No, this isn't high-priority... –  Cody Gray Jul 13 '11 at 0:17
@CodyGray -- im sure this wont be fixed for a year or so, even though it might be a really easy fix lol. but yes, it is not high priority. –  amanaP lanaC A nalP A naM A Jul 13 '11 at 4:02
@Neal, okay, there might be a little discrepancy in the preview, but it's not like you cannot see the spoilers right away in the very answer you're editing, right? Your +50 bounty in itself acknowledges this feature is low priority (otherwise you would have spent more than the minimum required ;) –  Frédéric Hamidi Dec 5 '11 at 23:04
@Frédéric, when not knowing about this minor bug, hence when expecting the preview to be 100% correct, then while editing folks might spend time on fixing things that don't need fixing? –  Arjan Dec 6 '11 at 10:59
@FrédéricHamidi the bounty can only go up ^_^ –  amanaP lanaC A nalP A naM A Dec 6 '11 at 14:07
