I don't think Sympathy Voting is a solvable problem: some folks will up-vote down-voted posts (just as others will down-vote up-voted posts), it's just the way they think. However, it should be possible to avoid the situation where some users manage to pile up rather large amounts of reputation on the site based entirely on asking scores of bad questions. | |
