I like watching my progress at the Stack Exchange leagues. But is it possible to find my rank for a specific tag (C# for example)?

You can't find your rank, but you can find out how well you stack up against the highest in a tag.
http://stackoverflow.com/tags/<tagname>/topusers
It shows you at the bottom of the list (unless you're actually in the list) so you can compare to how much you need to improve to be on the list of top users.
It's not exactly what you're looking for, but it gives you the basics. Of course if you're competing with someone you'd have to do a little more research or share information with them or something.
I think the best you can do is use this data.SE query which currently puts you at 108 in the C# tag.
You can also use this query if you just want a single tag or see who the other users are below is the first 109 users in c#

@donroby I'll try and fix it if you tell me which tag and for which user? Nov 15, 2011 at 21:00
-
For me (userid=220834) the tag "wicket" didn't show up. I'm the top answerer. On rerun, I also notice that it marks me as 1 for wicket-tester, where I'm only second-to-top. Might be an off-by-one.– donrobyNov 15, 2011 at 21:13
-
And to further the suspicion, using userid=342852, he shows 1 for wicket and doesn't show for wicket-tester. He's the top for wicket-tester and second (after moi) for wicket.– donrobyNov 15, 2011 at 21:19

@donroby I wasn't the author of the original query. Rather than figure out why it was broken I simply rewrote from scratch. It now work with the user ids you mentioned. Thanks Nov 15, 2011 at 21:52

@SomeHelpfulCommenter I'm real late to the party and second query link (the list) is dead. Don't suppose you know where it is living these days?– JohnJul 16, 2013 at 4:45

@John I updated the link. It was easier to recreate the query than to find it. Jul 16, 2013 at 16:05

@SomeHelpfulCommenter Thanks appreciate it. Is the rank all time per tag, or is there a filter of some sort. The totals are smaller than I expected...– JohnJul 16, 2013 at 19:11

Is it possible there is a bug in there somewhere? An example, on Graphic Design site, color-theory has a top score of 3, while I have a single answer with a score of 8. Also common tags like adobe-photoshop show no results at all.– JohnJul 16, 2013 at 19:31

@john it's possible there's a bug. Can you post the url of the query you ran. Jul 17, 2013 at 5:50

graphicdesign.stackexchange.com has a common tag 'adobe-photoshop'. Although I did discover per the answer above that this also gives the results I was after: http://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com//tags/adobe-photoshop/topusers– JohnJul 17, 2013 at 12:51

@John It seems that Beta sites don't show up in data.stackexchange.com Perhaps you should upvote this Jul 17, 2013 at 14:49

@SomeHelpfulCommenter vote added. It is strange that some tags like color-theory or typography return partial results... Thanks for the help.– JohnJul 17, 2013 at 15:54

@John That's because you're querying the Stack Oveflow datadump. color-theory and typography are valid tags there. I'm sure if you tried it on Cooking it wouldn't be there. As a side note the query disappeared again. I don't know why. Jul 17, 2013 at 20:17

1@dynamic to get all users, Put 0 for user ID for all users. If you want to add a filter for location you can fork the query and use the users.location field. Some people just hard code the filters . There's also the query I wrote for this Meta question that wasn't well received. Apr 27, 2015 at 15:44

For late-comers: You can approximate this by using the Developer Story feature that SO recently added. If you include tags in your profile and you rank high in that tag, your dev profile will include it. Mine shows the tags I'm top 1%, 5%, and 10% in.

I think the closest you'd get is the Top Users page for the tag.
You'll always be the 21st user listed. (Unless you're actually in the top 20)
