Possible Duplicate:
Self delete or expire time sensitive questions

I want to suggest an expiration (to delete or to archive) questions, When you ask a question you can also set an expiration date after which if there is no answer the question would be removed and if there are answers it would be archived.

There are questions (and answers/ solutions) that are seasonal, or happen because of a transition from one technology to another or ... and after a while only would clutter the search results.

EXAMPLE: There are questions related to iOS beta releases which are useless after the release of stables.

One further thing to think about: apparently most of the "searching" is actually done on Google. You wouldn't want to remove useful hits for questions from Google's index, would you? What benefit would removing them from the local searches provide? – sarnold Nov 17 '11 at 2:00
  • Also, due to the Apple NDA, questions on iOS and Mac Beta's should be done on their support forum, not on public sites. It's a grey area, but these questions specifically should not really be on SO. – BinaryMisfit Nov 17 '11 at 6:51

If a question is that time-sensitive, it is probably a candidate for closing as "too localized" ("only relevant to ... a specific moment in time") and doesn't belong on the site in the first place.
