Possible Duplicates:
Should bounty be returned if there is NO answer at all?
Why aren't bounties refunded if they are not awarded?

I was placed a bounty on a question I desperately need help on and thought deserved more attention. I waited for someone to answer, but no one came up with anything. I planned on retrieving my bounty and put 100 bounty on the question instead.

But when I got back to the question today, the bounty wasn't there and I didn't get my 50 reputation back!

Does a person's bounty get removed indefinetly even if no one answers the question? Because then I have a request. Request: If a person does not have his question answered on a bounty question, he/she should get their bounty back. Because now, I only have 74 rep and can't place another bounty!

And if you do get your bounty back, I would like to file a bug issue.

You should have been given ample warnings before your bounty ended about its imminent ending. – BoltClock's a Unicorn Feb 26 '12 at 15:11
