I've noticed an issue when working through the review queue on Stack Overflow.

Items I attempt to review in any queue do not accept the review I've given them. These questions are then re-presented to me, sometimes multiple times before I am able to get my review to "take" and have this disappear from my queue.

I see this in all the queues. It does not appear that the editor or the OP has made additional edits on these items in the meantime. When rejecting an edit, it also does not appear that another reviewer was able to vote on the question in the meantime.

Is this a bug, or is something happening behind the scenes that would "lock" this question for some reason?

I caught this with Firebug in FF 18.0.

The first 4 attempts to approve gave this same response. 5th attempt was successful, with a different URL in RedirectTo and an increment of div#badge-progress-count.

When you say you can't "get the review to take," what does that mean exactly? Do you get an error message? Do you wind up back in the same page, reviewing the same item again? – Robert Harvey Feb 5 '13 at 15:55
  • Might be due to connection problems; my ISP got funky lately and it caused most AJAX-based actions to fail 1 out of 3 times in average. Work with a Network tab (of the browser) open and see what's going on. – ShaWiz Feb 5 '13 at 15:56
  • @Robert Harvey: Say there is 1 item in the review queue, and it's a valid edit. I hit "Approve" and the question is immediately re-presented to me without any error or other notification. – cpilko Feb 5 '13 at 15:56
  • @ShaWizDowArd It might be a Firefox-specific issue. Just ran through 10 questions in Chrome (better network tab), and had no issues. I typically use SO in FF (v18.0.1 on Win7) to compartmentalize my workflow. – cpilko Feb 5 '13 at 16:06
  • @cpilko might be... for me FF was always slower and less stable. – ShaWiz Feb 5 '13 at 16:33
  • @cpilko I too have experienced a problem where I clicked a button but was given the same item to review again. – Austin Henley Feb 5 '13 at 18:06
