Can SQL Server Full-Text Search and Semantic Search be added to Stack Exchange Data Explorer?

Much of the textual data is difficult to query using T-SQL alone (impossible, if one hits a time out).

Adding Full-Text Search and Semantic Search would allow for more powerful analysis, and make some existing uses of the data much more efficient.

Both features are available in SQL Server Express with Advanced Services and above.

A recent Stack Overflow question by jmac that might have benefited, as a (very) simple example:

  • I do a lot of complex queries with phrases already. I'm not fantastic with queries, so I usually use lower() and like, where like has a bunch of %s. What I find astonishing is the fact that I usually get results without hitting the time limit. – Laurel May 27 '16 at 3:16
  • @Laurel instead of lower() use collate with the *_CI_AI variants – rene May 28 '16 at 7:46
  • A strategy I follow is to limit the result set on an indexed column when I need to do text searches. Then I execute the query multiple times – rene May 28 '16 at 7:52
