On one site, I had one question with something like 50 views. So my estimated view count was 50 views. It would seem logical that everyone who read that thread read my question.

But I had written several answers, with something like ten votes. Even if you assumed that I got no other views on my answers than those votes, that would imply that my total view count should be at least 60 (50+10).

Yet, that was not the case. Why not?

  • Which "total view count"? Do you mean "people reached" in your profile (~25k)? – Glorfindel Apr 18 at 8:03
  • @Glorfindel: Yes. My theory is that it should be at least 60; 50 for the questions, 10 for the answers. – Tom Au Apr 18 at 8:06

That makes sense, but not all answers qualify. Which site is this? – Glorfindel Apr 18 at 8:10

I failed to find your account having a question with ~50 views, ~50 people reached, and an answer with 10 votes... otherwise, if this is a misunderstanding, then SE can't differentiate between Q views and A views. The view stats on the top-right of each post include both question and answer views (basically, the whole thread view). – Meta Andrew T. Apr 18 at 19:37
