When I do another bounty, it makes me do 100 points. Is there no way to award 50 points now that the previous one expired? It seems like a flaw in the system.

I added two more duplicates, which explain why the bounty system requires doubling up the minimum spend. This is not going to change, sorry. – Martijn Pieters Feb 10 at 0:03
  • Agree with the abuse issue @MartijnPieters however, couldn't we add a feature where I just aware the bounty 'to a person' for 50 even after it's closed. I should not have to award 100. This could not be abused as you are just rewarding an answer directly instead of adding bounty to the question. (ie. make it direct perhaps?) – Dean Hiller Feb 10 at 14:38

Because awarding reputation directly to another account with no visibility to the community is never going to be abused, you mean? Try to think that one through a bit. – Martijn Pieters Feb 10 at 14:45
