I just tried editing a comment/answer/question on Chrome and while it correctly copies everything, it doesn't highlight the entire copied text.

The first three lines don't get highlighted!. Similar issues with my comments. It works on Safari though...

This was happening on different forums. I also can't successfully highlight multiple lines using my keyboard or mouse

I'm on macOS 10.15.3 and chrome 80.0.3987.149

I can no longer reproduce this on chrome. Seems that the problem has gone away.

  • Here is the question on SO referred to in this question; whether it's a problem with the editor, example related question, remains to be seen. – Rob Mar 26 at 16:45
  • I can not repro this on Chrome Win 10. I'm zoomed at 100%. – rene Mar 26 at 16:46
  • I'm on mac and my chrome is the most recent. I just updated my macOS yesterday, But this – Honey Mar 26 at 16:58
  • is chrome, so I suppose my mac has nothing to do with it – Honey Mar 26 at 16:58
  • Unable to repro on UTD Chrome 64-bit (Only Ublock) or UTD Firefox 64-bit (Only Ublock) Win 10 for comments or questions. – RageFoxx Mar 26 at 18:10
  • when you say other forums, do you mean other sites in the stack exchange network, or other websites outside of the network? – Kodos Johnson Mar 26 at 18:37
  • No repro on Chrome Version 80.0.3987.149 (Official Build) (64-bit) Win 10 at least on Worldbuilding. – Bitter dreggs. Mar 26 at 19:15
  • @KodosJohnson on stackexchange, stackoverflow, philosophy.stackexchange. Also none of the comments here are included in my inbox (the icon next to reputation icon). Also weird – Honey Mar 26 at 19:25
  • No repro on same version OS and browser (macOS 10.15.3 and chrome 80.0.3987.149) – Kodos Johnson Mar 26 at 19:53
  • Try temporarily disabling all extensions you may have. Or, if it's easier, open an incognito window of chrome and see if the issue remains. – Kodos Johnson Mar 26 at 19:53
  • @KodosJohnson it's the same in incognito. I wonder why 2 people upvoted this. I mean I don't know if it's happening for them too or what – Honey Mar 26 at 22:46
  • Honey, the lack of Notifications has been reported. Perhaps the up votes are to clarify (as my first comment attempted to do) that your question is on-topic (though it might end up no-repro); as people are quick to close questions that appear on the surface unrelated to Stack Exchange software or are no-repro. IF someone was able to confirm your bug report it would have been more helpful to leave a comment and describe their brwsr. – Rob Mar 27 at 3:26
