We know that Stack Overflow has a suggested edit queue, visible to the users who have the Access Review Queues privilege. Someone said the queue has a fixed size.

What's the fixed size of the suggested edit queue?

Is it often that the queue gets filled up and users can no longer suggest edits?

Where did that strange question mark in the title come from? – Gabe Mar 23 '11 at 7:09
  • @Gabe: Unicode. – kennytm Mar 23 '11 at 7:17
  • So how did a non-ASCII question mark end up in the title? None of the others on the page are u+FF1F. – Gabe Mar 23 '11 at 7:19

The default size across Stack Exchange network is 40.

Currently, these are the exceptions to this default:

Please set the moderator queue to a fixed size of 30. ;) – Bill the Lizard Mar 23 '11 at 13:04
  • @Bill sure not probs, :) – waffles Mar 23 '11 at 21:07
  • I've seen it at ~25 on Unix.SE once, when a user wrote a bunch of tag wikis. (Second biggest it's ever been is probably like 4.) – Gilles Mar 24 '11 at 22:27

Out of sheer curiosity, has this changed since this was posted? – cdeszaq Mar 23 '12 at 15:35

@cdeszaq It has. Edit queue on SO is now 200. And often full or near-full. – Daniel Fischer Jul 10 '12 at 14:58
  • @DanielFischer Is it still at 200 five years later? – Stevoisiak Apr 19 '17 at 13:36
  • @StevenVascellaro I don't know. But since Shadow Wizard, who knows their way around the sites rather well, edited the post last year to say it's 200, that's probably correct. – Daniel Fischer Apr 19 '17 at 13:58
  • As of June 29th, 2017, the suggested edit queue size has increased from 200 to 500. @ShadowWizard should we update this answer? – JAL Jul 5 '17 at 15:14
  • @JAL sure, thanks for the heads up. If it changes again we'll just edit this again. (it took me long time to find the actual numbers when asked, so better have it updated here, so we have one place we know for sure is up to date. :-)) – Shadow The Dragon Wizard Jul 5 '17 at 15:26
  • Sure thing, if only the SE staff/mods could update this in one place. As it stands, the info is scattered all over meta... – JAL Jul 5 '17 at 15:27

@JAL true, but that's where we can help. – Shadow The Dragon Wizard Jul 5 '17 at 15:27
