Nope, it should not be closed. Broken windows add to the site's resale value, just ask anybody from Detroit (who needs A/C when you've got a lovely breeze).

The rationale is simple: horrible, popular questions are beneficial to the site, otherwise we may not figure out how to [sort our laundry efficiently][1]. Statistical cows should be treated no different.
