I'm a software developer. I've been developing applications for the public-safety market since 1998. Like many people on the Stack Exchange network, I first got hooked by Stack Overflow. After that, I began dabbling in some of the other SE sites. While I like to keep the sites as free from junk questions as much as everyone else, I prefer to spend most of my time in the communities where helping and encouraging people who are genuinely trying, even newbies, is the norm. I tend to keep my distance from the more cut-throat, FGITW, areas.
