EDIT: this is not a duplicate with the question: Does markdown have a way to express strikeout? unless you're assuming everybody knows that stackoverflow uses the markdown markup language

When you're searching how to do such a basic task (strike the text), you want to find the answer directly. You're not going to make the assumption that the site must probably use a well known markup language, search what this markup language is and then search how it's done in this markup language.
