Question posts can be merged; when this happens, not only are answers moved over, but favourites (starring the post)all votes are moved overmerged as well.

Since favouritesOn merging, the dates for the votes are recorded as a type of votenot reset, so you can see such votes recorded for the original question that was merged into a newer question post, where the date on the vote predatespredate the merge target newer question.
