That's why finding a balance in how we express ourselves in a community is key. I would like to refer to this excellent post: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/335158/….
Oct 10, 2019 at 21:13 comment added anon A while ago, someone edited an answer of mine (on my main account) to add an example of something where they used the word "he" for a generic non-specific person. It was a totally reasonable edit otherwise, but the idea of there being text on the internet with my name out there doing it made me deeply uncomfortable, and I found a pretense to re-edit the question myself so it didn't look like I was changing only that, sigh. Thank you for your allyship.
