Dec 9, 2019 at 12:31 | comment | added | Rob | Minor? Point: In addition, the 3rd Brush is one pixel too big (in my opinion) and makes a (relatively) big jump in size between the second and third brush + look at it this way, if there were a 4th brush how wide would it be?, 8 pixels (ouch).
Dec 9, 2019 at 12:31 | comment | added | Rob | Yaakov, there was more missing than met the eye. I use FF Android in Desktop View (as do quite a few people). After the fix it looks sufficiently fine in landscape mode (I didn't realize that a couple of colors were completely missing), though it could be centered on the page better. But in portrait mode the leftmost (newly revealed) swatch is half a circle too far to the left, though the centering is better (but not exact). --- I am OK, no priority to fix for me. Thanks for making it better. [Continued].
Dec 9, 2019 at 8:25 | comment | added | Yaakov Ellis StaffMod | @Rob try again now please. Also, please note the new brush that I made for you. Sorry, but there just wasn't enough time to change anything about the header.

Dec 5, 2019 at 23:43 | comment | added | Rob | YaakovEllis - I pulled the specs from last year. I understand that the redesigning must be as easy as possible. Here is a lake reflection design (the Button in the center only needs to appear once (not reflected), or could be on the bottom). That is simply 2x last year's vertical resolution. A subsequent reload/replacement of your new header image would be with the user's last save. Other promo pages were different sizes. IDK.
Dec 5, 2019 at 20:06 | comment | added | Yaakov Ellis StaffMod | @Rob the problem is that the header image (which you can see a screenshot of here) is not a static image. It is actually generated on the fly on the same loom that you can draw on if you "start knitting". So if we were to change the resolution, it would end up requiring us to recode that entire header image. So a simple change, with big side effect.
Dec 5, 2019 at 19:28 | comment | added | Yaakov Ellis StaffMod | @Rob I'll see what I can do. Changing the resolution of the "loom" actually breaks a number of dependencies that rely on it being the way that it is right now, and there probably isn't enough time to fix that. Expanding the palette will hopefully be more achievable. Not making any promises. We'll see.

Dec 4, 2019 at 15:56 | comment | added | Rob | Bugs approves that message. 🐰🎻
Dec 4, 2019 at 9:05 | comment | added | Yaakov Ellis StaffMod | Thanks for the suggestions Rob. No promises, but we'll see...
Dec 4, 2019 at 9:02 | comment | added | Rob | YaakovEllis there were many requests to slightly increase the resolution and significantly improve the palette of the Knitting Machine - I hope it wasn't too much trouble to change a few numbers and that this year's knitting can be even better.
Dec 4, 2019 at 8:45 | comment | added | Shadow Wizard | @FrédéricHamidi find a safe place with the same life style and we can begin. :-)
Dec 4, 2019 at 8:39 | comment | added | Frédéric Hamidi | @Sha, shouldn't we be thinking about evacuating them instead? Knitting is not exactly fireproof.
Dec 4, 2019 at 8:36 | comment | added | Shadow Wizard | @Lundin consider this as letting the innocent people who are still in the house have some fun.
Dec 4, 2019 at 8:06 | comment | added | Lundin | Yeah this is definitely what SO should spend its resources on. Lets all sit down and knit while the house is still on fire.
Dec 4, 2019 at 6:31 | comment | added | Eran | @YaakovEllis Thanks for your reply. I'm looking forward to it!
Dec 4, 2019 at 6:27 | comment | added | Yaakov Ellis StaffMod | It is the same theme as 2018 (and yes, you can knit once more). Sorry, not enough bandwidth here to make a brand new theme this time around. And the knitting is pretty cool. (Mostly) different hats and missions. And even though it is starting on the 9th, it will run through the end of Jan 1 (as usual)
Dec 4, 2019 at 3:13 | comment | added | Eran | Based on the counter, it would start in 5 days - 12/9. That's very early. If it lasts the usual 3 weeks it won't cover the new year. I hope it's not going to be an exact rerun of last year (as the exact same countdown might suggest).
Dec 3, 2019 at 23:59 | comment | added | Shadow Wizard | So we will get exactly what we had in 2018, with the knitting tool and same hats? 🧢
Dec 3, 2019 at 21:48 | comment | added | Frédéric Hamidi | Best of luck, guys. The other answers still stand -- you know what I think about this.
