Deciding whether genAI produced a correct answer is what wastes considerable human time and is the reason for the initial ban; blindly trusting the author's expertise isn't the quality model of SE. Being in a situation were trustworthy, correct genAI answers are all we have simply isn't the situation that the SE sites encountered. (Since for puzzling SE verification is a lot different their motivation is of course different, even if they decided for a ban in the end too.)
