The words "Mod" and "Staff" are fine in the user card. However, in the comments, it's too much of a distraction, especially when there are many comments from mods or employees.
I suggest reducing it to just symbols (as before) next to usernames in the comments similar to what's demonstrated in this answer.
If you add a symbol next to "Staff" in the user card, it's immediately clear what the symbol represents when one is checking the comments.
