Sep 2 at 10:45 comment added Shadow Wizard @siamii there is something somewhat similar, which is the way SE handles trolls, or at least users/people they consider trolls. SE staff, sometimes with help of site mods, would silently delete such a troll's accounts on spot, and/or give network wide suspension. This is not transparent, and any details are kept in secret. The reasoning is fair (so the troll won't feel like they're getting attention), but meh... final result is quite the same as hellbanning.

Jan 18, 2012 at 14:07 comment added siamii It might be worth mentioning that hellbanning, slowbanning, errorbanning and randombanning are widely used on reddit and hacker news, among other sites. Usually it is kept secret and any posts complaining about it are deleted as soon as possible. I fear that this may be the case for SE too. One thing is the official stance, and another thing is what's actually there.
