Since we are now on our way into the second month of the Q2 of 2022, it is time to address the elephant in the room: where is the Q1 2022 Community team roadmap? It hasn't been published on the blog; it hasn't been announced via a post with the tag; there hasn't been an MSE Feedback post by the VP of Community.

On a related note... Where's the Q2 2022 roadmap?

I'm adding the [status-review] tag to make sure we respond to this.

As a note, there is no Q2 2022. As part of the Prosus acquisition we've moved to align with their fiscal calendar. We're currently in Q1 of 2023.

@Catija that means we're missing Q3 and Q4 of 2022 as well! We're further behind on roadmaps than we thought! feigned horror

@Catija while that may be of financial influence, as that's why it's called a fiscal calender of course, it would be highly confusing if you guys were going to use that as indication for the quarterly roadmap. At the same time it gives you about 3/4 of a year, instead of one quarter to finish work, so hopefully this time everything can be accomplished that was on the road map.

Maybe denote it by PFY (Prosus financial year) and by the period the road map covers in the calender the rest of us use for the Gregorian calendar?

  • @JourneymanGeek Not everybody uses the Gregorian Calendar :) Four countries have not adopted the Gregorian calendar: Afghanistan and Iran (which use the Solar Hijri calendar), Ethiopia (the Ethiopian calendar), and Nepal (Vikram Samvat and Nepal Sambat) May 6 at 17:49
  • Oh if we want to do things that way....

  • @Catija is this concept of roadmap and sharing the plans even still alive? Or was it removed/changed as part of the acquisition too? (aka "orders from above") May 8 at 6:57

@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar there's no correlation between the acquisition and the publication of the information, as far as I'm aware. They don't seem to make any sort of edicts about things like that. I know people fear that some bogeyman is going to come out and change everything... but that's really not what's happening.

  • @Catija well, erasing half year of plans isn't a minor thing. No bogeyman, just "change of policy" which is usually even worse. Anyway, let's hope for the best. May 8 at 8:04
