The content was taken from the rev. 233 of FAQ for Stack Exchange sites to test an idea shared on a comment to my answer to Help develop the site and community knowledge base in your language.

The idea is to add links to the translated version of those FAQ posts are already translated by using ES, JA, PT or RU as the link text.

Is your question not part of the FAQ?

First look at questions tagged to see if there is a question not in this index that might have the answer you seek. If you still can't find an answer, then see the following instructions for proposing an FAQ question.

How can a question be added to this FAQ?

  • Ask only the question, stated plainly and simply, in the question body. The answer goes in an answer.

  • Link back to this index. Paste this at the end of the question:

     [Return to FAQ index](/q/7931)

  • Tag as and . When a post seems to have hit a mature state, it will have added by a moderator.

  • Flag for a moderator to mark community wiki. Any FAQ post not yet community wiki should be made into a community wiki.

  • After the post has the tag added to it, add a link in the above table of contents.

  • I don't think I understand how this is going to work. If all the titles are in English, how are people going to find the right FAQ in their language? Or am I misunderstanding the purpose of this?

  • @Laurel: The main goal is to help international users that are able to read English but prefer to read the FAQ posts on one of the international sites languages. User that are bilingual or polyglot willing to help translating FAQ posts could find this useful to identify which FAQ posts aren't translated yet.

Good idea! Since the link "ES" was a bit difficult to read after the link to the original post, I took the liberty to change the format a bit and show those in the next line. Commented Dec 3, 2018 at 9:22
  • @Rubén I made a mistake editing because I confused the <hr> with a <br>. But I also think it would be better if the links were written as [title](link) with the abbreviation /q/number instead of the full domain. This latter rewrite would be such a massive edit I wouldn't try it without checking with the OP first.

  • How it would be better to write that way links that are currently working? AFAIK doing this kind of changes should be rejected as they don't do any improvement. Anyway, I don't see any problem that new links or links that should be edited b/c they are not working to use the abbreviation form.
